Marc Corbett-Weaver

Artistic Director & CEO

Marc Corbett-Weaver is a solo classical pianist and artistic director. He has organised The Story of Christmas each year since 2009 and has been Artistic Director & CEO since the charity’s refreshed corporate structure was formed in 2011. Marc arranges the carol service, reception and auction; creates the musical programme, special effects and celebrity cast; coordinates the charity’s fundraising operation; organises its ancillary events, marketing, press and promotion, website and social media, the selection of charitable projects and grant-giving; and manages the charity on a day-to-day basis.

Outside of The Story of Christmas, Marc performs as a solo recitalist and concerto soloist in London, across the UK and occasionally internationally. He teaches talented pianists privately in London and is also the Artistic Director & CEO of the London Firebird Orchestra which, like The Story of Christmas, is also based at St George’s Hanover Square.

Marc initially became involved with The Story of Christmas in 2004 as a performer at the event. After organising several series of fundraising concerts at St George’s Hanover Square and the Unicorn Theatre, Marc was invited to become a Vice President in 2007. The concerts continued and in 2009, when the event’s Co-Founder & Chairman became unwell, Marc stepped in to organise The Story of Christmas at a week’s notice.

Born in York, Marc was educated at QEGS Wakefield, where he was a chorister of Wakefield Cathedral, and the Royal College of Music. Marc lives in central London and enjoys travel, opera, history, brushing up on foreign languages and cookery.
