Our Forty-Eighth Presentation took place in December 2025 with the Band & Fanfare Trumpeters of the Scots Guards, the Choir of Westminster Cathedral and a dazzling array of celebrated readers including Asa Butterfield, Benedict Cumberbatch, Lord Fellowes, Vanessa Feltz, Dawn French, Tim Henman, Ian Hislop, Celia Imrie, Geraldine James, Alex Jennings, Elizabeth McGovern, Sir Tony Robinson, Greta Scacchi, Dan Snow, Dominic West and Lucy Worsley
and raised £1.06 million – thank you so much to all our wonderful supporters.

Our 2024 event raised over £1 million for the first time in our 47-year history. We are moved, humbled and overjoyed by this amazing result which will do huge good for our wonderful charities – thank you so very much to all our supporters.
We were joined by the Band & Fanfare Trumpeters of the Scots Guards, the Choir of Westminster Cathedral and a dazzling array of celebrated readers including Rowan Atkinson, Simon Callow, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Everett, Aled Jones, Ian Hislop, Sienna Miller, James Norton, David Mitchell, Hussina Raja, Sophie Raworth, Julia Sawalha, Adrian Scarborough, Dan Snow and Kate Winslet.
Founded in 1978, The Story of Christmas is an annual Christmas charity event which is strongly supported by the property and construction industries. Each December it begins at St George’s Hanover Square with a spectacular service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Readings are presented by a dazzling array of celebrated names from public life. Festive music is performed by the Band & Fanfare Trumpeters of one of the Foot Guard Regiments and a leading choir. Following the service there is a fully-catered champagne reception and charity auction at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane on Piccadilly.
The event raises funds to support a broad and diverse range of charitable projects, benefitting homelessness and disadvantaged children.
